after being disassembled and not seen for +20 years, I need to gather up all the pieces I took off and put them in an area to either send off for rebuilding or sell. the place they are currently at has NO room for sorting given they are now at the bottom of a hoarders collection.

I am thinking about an enclosed cargo trailer. this will be needed for all the pieces excluding glass and doors since they are still on the frame. It will include wheels, suspinion, seats, dash, door pannels, wiring and engine/transaxle.

would one think a 6X12 single axle fit the bill?

my short term need is just to have one place to put the pieces removed from the body/frame. those pieces are currently scattered and mixed with a LOT of other items. I would hope that the 6X12(X6) would give me enough room to store and be able to inventory every thing (except the body). with my current responsibilities I only get a few minutes per day to allocate for this project. for example for the last few days I have been trying to find the exhuast headers and mufflers with no luck.
the prebuilt shed (or even a sea cargo van) is still being considered. the reason I was thinking trailer as by having all the parts in a convient, ready to roll away container, would allow some one to fairly judge a fair price if I decide just to sell and not rebuild. the trailer could also be helpful in getting this "basket case" to a builder.

Even though it seems I have not made any progress in the last couple months, I want to set a deadline for my self of next month in that the car and all the pieces be out of the shed.
I am limited in availablity in my area and my choices were a 5X10 single axle or a 7X14 dual.

This afternoon I now have a bare 7X14. Now to either protect the plywood floor or start digging parts out of the shed. I don't feel I have taken the first step towards starting the rebuild, but I am facing in the right direction.

Please, encouragement and even harasment is needed.
Hi JFB,
As Ron stated...you're heading in the right direction. Organization is key! If the pieces/parts aren't organized headway is near impossible in my opinion. Also, once you get everything organized, you can then assess the whole picture and more comfortably assess if the project is one you want to tackle....or exit from. Should you decide to tackle it, you'll surely get the support you need here. Should you decide to exit it..I'm sure you will also find a member willing to help there (me included ;-).

Good luck with the digging. Post some pics of what you've got going on..... Big Grin
I know it doesn't sound that way when I talk about the condition the parts are in now, but I have a knack that things need to be orginised and a detail set instructions needed for a task (that is why I hire plumbers, takes me a day to plan, where they come and leave in an hour Smiler )

with the advent of digital photography, I was hoping to have a visual referance to my inventory, and more than likely need to post and ask "what is this". there is also some parts from other cars mixed in there.

Now, this week end and first of next week, there is "extreme cold" forecasted (that would be pleasantly cool to you Rob !) but I am looking foward to getting started.

Joe
