Many vendors carry what you are looking for. I have had good luck with Hall Pantera, phone # 1-562-531-2629
15337 Garfield Ave
Paramount, Calif. 90723
The last time I looked at Hall Pantera's catalogue, the steel fenders and accessories for a GT-5 conversion listed for $2500. The so-called wide body GT5-S conversion listed for about $10,000. Doing the body work added another $10-12,000 (not including paint) & 8 months of labor. Other shops may also do this work, using similar fenders. This is an enormous job even for pro body shops. There will be some 50 FEET of TIG-weld beads to work down, once the new "S" fenders are mounted to the stock tub. There are fiberglas conversion fenders around, but cracking will be a regular thing, I'm afraid, since so much of the load-bearing stock body must be cut away for them to fit properly. The 10x 15" front & 12x 15 rear Campys are impossible to find and speed-rated tires are almost non-existent. If it were me, I'd look around for an already converted, running car to buy rather than get involved in such a project.
Hi Jack...thanks for the info. Actually i would just be interested in the flare parts as the welding...bodywork and paint are not a problem for me. (i am well versed in paint and body work] You mentioned HALL pantera....i will contact them. Dumb question back at you....you mentioned CAMpYs...i am quite familiar with XKE Jags and 911s... but this will be my 1st pantera. WHAT are Campys...wide rims perhaps... Thanx...Mav
"Campys" are magnesium wheels made by Campagnolo of Italy. They were stock on all the Panteras, but the 'wide-body' models used ultra-wide 10-slot magnesium 10x 15 fronts and 12 or 13" wide x 15 dia rears, of a different design. Last ones I saw for sale were $2000 EACH and street tires for them are unavailable now. Of course one could run aluminum aftermarket 16" or bigger wheels that would be much heavier than the stock mags.
i hear you on the twisting when fenders are cut. The last car i cut was a 911...i added steel OEM flares to it...gas welded with acetylene...filled....sanded....filled...sanded... etc...whew! Quite a project but was strong and tight when done. VERY SHARp! NO TWiST that i could discern. Of course it didnt have a V8 behind it either! Thanks again for the info. i put my 18.6 Whaler (boat] up for sale and as soon as she goes i am gonna get on the trail (unless i find a deal sooner... heh heh]. Wife already gave me the nod. Best...Mav
