We live in a "no fault" state, so I assume that means both insurance companies have a stake in low balling me. I'm going to get a few independent estimates to present to their adjusters.
I've been contacted, off board, by a member who has gone through all of this. I'm sure he will be an invaluable resource.
Thanks everyone, for the advice and support.

I have no experience of 'no fault' insurance here in the US, but thought it was akin to a first party insurance i.e. your insurer covers your losses, her insurer hers. If that is true you should only be dealing with your insurer and hopefully you had an agreed value policy, which might make it easier to convince them to repair over full payout.

Very sad to see, hopefully they threw the book at her for distracted driving and speeding.
That makes two Panteras damaged by stupidity on virtually the same day, the other was being test driven by an interested buyer and can be seen on Bring a Trailer. Neither should could be called an accident.
I'm glad nobody was hurt in either. After 19 years of ownership I would not give up on this loyal family member. Best of luck with the reconstruction.

So sad, glad your not hurt.
I live in Michigan, also a No-Fault state. Your insurance is all you will deal with. Here the at fault driver will have to cover your deductible that's it(if the same as here) I would talk to a attorney to make sure you get all of your contractual coverages. Good luck on all of your repairs.

Mooso,

I am sorry man...that totally sucks. You had such a beautiful car.

I had the privilege of catching a ride in it years ago on my quest for different seats in my Pantera. It was a great cat and fortunately with the right body guy/gal it can be again.

Keep your head up. Glad you were not injured in the accident. Take care.

Devin
Thanks Rick,
The insurance appraiser looked at the car today. They sent an independent appraiser who seemed to know his stuff. But he also warned me that the insurance company is likely to low ball me in spite of his report. So I guess I'll be waiting for his numbers and then see where we're at.
If I'm not happy, I'll pay for my own appraisal, and contact you for advice on how to deal with negotiating a fair settlement.
