Absolutely terrible. So sad to see this. Also glad you were not in it.
You were not hurt so all is well. Not an easy fix but is certainly reparable as long as your policy has a reasonable limit. The other insurance company will look at that so do not let the adjuster intimidate. Good luck.
We live in a "no fault" state, so I assume that means both insurance companies have a stake in low balling me. I'm going to get a few independent estimates to present to their adjusters.
I've been contacted, off board, by a member who has gone through all of this. I'm sure he will be an invaluable resource.
Thanks everyone, for the advice and support.

So, what does the other vehicle look like?
I have no experience of 'no fault' insurance here in the US, but thought it was akin to a first party insurance i.e. your insurer covers your losses, her insurer hers. If that is true you should only be dealing with your insurer and hopefully you had an agreed value policy, which might make it easier to convince them to repair over full payout.
Very sad to see, hopefully they threw the book at her for distracted driving and speeding.

AND she is still "on the phone" sitting there
UNBELIEVABLE! As cautious as we are, driving defensively in these cars, and have someone drive into it well off the roadway next to the curb & parked.

And across a bike lane!
That makes two Panteras damaged by stupidity on virtually the same day, the other was being test driven by an interested buyer and can be seen on Bring a Trailer. Neither should could be called an accident.
I'm glad nobody was hurt in either. After 19 years of ownership I would not give up on this loyal family member. Best of luck with the reconstruction.

I live in Michigan, also a No-Fault state. Your insurance is all you will deal with. Here the at fault driver will have to cover your deductible that's it(if the same as here) I would talk to a attorney to make sure you get all of your contractual coverages. Good luck on all of your repairs.
Jeff
Mooso,
I am sorry man...that totally sucks. You had such a beautiful car.
I had the privilege of catching a ride in it years ago on my quest for different seats in my Pantera. It was a great cat and fortunately with the right body guy/gal it can be again.
Keep your head up. Glad you were not injured in the accident. Take care.

And on every photo she is on the cell phone.
Hopefully you get the things done well.

Man that hurts to look at let alone being there.
Again, you weren't hurt but still I feel for you.
Does the brainless moron driver have any idea what they wrecked ?
And yes, it's repairable.
Hang in there.

I'm so sorry that this happened. I know your pain. I am still dealing with the insurance companies on both sides. Feel free to contact me...I may have some good info regarding the claims since that is also my business.
Thanks Rick,
The insurance appraiser looked at the car today. They sent an independent appraiser who seemed to know his stuff. But he also warned me that the insurance company is likely to low ball me in spite of his report. So I guess I'll be waiting for his numbers and then see where we're at.
If I'm not happy, I'll pay for my own appraisal, and contact you for advice on how to deal with negotiating a fair settlement.

Soooo very sorry! Hope you can get her back together and looking beautiful again soon!
At the risk of asking a dumb question .. I'm assuming that the truck driver's insurance is picking up the tab. If his/her insurance underestimates and you can demonstrate the true value can't you sue the truck driver for the difference?
