Carb and Intake Upgrade

Throttle cable installed with a cool looking return spring mount.

The auto parts place ordered the wrong valve cover gaskets!!!! The ones they got actually fit inside my covers. So....I'm waiting on those and with the seats sitting in my basement, I decided to look at why moving the seats was such a pain in the a@@. These will be bead blasted today at work.

The old parts waiting to be cleaned up and put away, unless someone is interested in taking them off my hands.

Just looking at your seat rails reminds me of what mine looked like. But it's not the rails that hang you up. It's the rollers.

All you gotta do is get new BRASS rollers (Hall has 'em) and for a few bucks your seat will slide back 'n forth like a new luxury car.

A few Bucks? Closer to $80

I kind of thought the rollers looked a bit out of round also. The rails were pretty gummed up. I was also surprised to see that only on of the rails had two rollers, all the rest only had the rear roller. Is that common? I'll post a pick of the cleaned up rails tonight. I haven't decided if I'm going to paint them or not.

I'm enjoying this thread. Do a search on 'seat rollers' and you'll find some threads on this topic. I did mine (one of the threads you'll find) and replaced with "Deltrin" rollers from ProFormance and they work PERFECTLY. Totally night and day difference. I also put thicker ss washers under the rear bolts to keep the bottom of the seat from rubbing too hard on the floor and thereby binding.

Clean the runners, do the rollers, insert washers, you're in business.

After you clean the rails, add a little waterproof grease and add 2 solid rollers to each rail, you may still find the seats still don't adjust easily after installation. If so, it's almost always because the floor is bent. Remove the carpet and eyeball the floor. If obvious dents are seen, the floor is quite thin and easy to straighten with a hammer and a 2x4, or a floor-jack against a dent. And do NOT discard the spacers that sit against the floor and protrude thru the carpet, that the rails sit on. Trying to lower the seats by discarding the spacers bends the seat rails when you tighten up the bolts on each end, and bent rails won't adjust easily. If you must lower the seats, cut the carpet away the full length of the seat rails so they sit flat on the floor. This lowers a seat about 3/4".

Thanks for the info guys. I will look in to getting the other rollers, or just put 4 of them on the driver's side seat. I rarely adjust the passenger side. I did check the undercarriage and floor pans and nothing is bent or dented THANK GOD! I'm not worried about the height of the seats, I just want full travel back and forth on the driver's side. The rails are cleaned and I have some White Lithuim grease for the rollers that should work well.

I am running a 650 Speed Demon in #4134 with an Edelbrock Performer. It made a HUGE difference in the performance of the car.
I noticed that you are running the OEM steel fuel line over to the right side of the carb. Where is your fuel filter?

First I will answer the fuel filter question. I looked at different braided hoses and stuff, but chose to do my own. I had a see-through filter in my Shelby that helped me monitor the fuel flow and a visiable indication when I had to change it. So I did the same set up.

Next is a series of shots of the seat rails while I'm still waiting for my valve cover gaskets!!!! Come to find out today, the order was NEVER placed! (New employee) I'm ok with it, my neighbor is the owner of the store and he brought me a 6-pack tonight to say he was sorry. Plus, I'm headed out for CT. in the morning to go to a party at my sister's and I have Monday and Tuesday of next week. They promised the gaskets will be in on Tuesday!

Now the seat rail after bead blasting, and ready for installation.I used Litium grease on both sides of the rails and the channel the rollers run in.

The assembled "Stop" rail.

Rails installed on the seat. I reversed the driver's side to gain another inch of forward travel. This is so my wife is able to get the clutch pushed in enough. (She loves the car and I can't stop her from wanting to drive) "Brownie Points" for me!!

Other parts also waiting until I can fire up the motor!
