I am looking at JEGS and I can get a new Holley Street Avenger for about $400. Or, I can get my Holley rebuilt by one of the people recommended on an earlier post (CARBSHOP, Daytona Carbs etc.) I talked to Mike at CarbShop and he estimated 350-400 plus shipping 2 directions Florida to Calif. Probably another 50 bucks Daytona Carbs is about the same price, but less $$$ for shipping. Is there an advantage to having mine rebuilt or should I buy new? Mike says he uses better parts than the factory, but????

Thanks

With no previous experience I rebuilt my Holley two weeks ago. I think the parts cost less than $70. I found an article online that made it look easy, and it was.

I took it apart, replaced some parts, dipped everything in cleaner, put it back together and it works like a charm.

Granted, I didn't have to fix any problems, I just cleaned it up and replaced a few things.
