The small hose was DeTomaso's attempt to remove air from the radiator. It didn't work. Not a problem that it isn't there. Just plug the small port on the coolant tube.

The way the little hose was suppose to work was: as the coolant flowed by the hose port on the coolant tube, in theory, a vacuum was created, thus sucking any air trapped at the top of the radiator and sending it to the back of the car where the swirl tank would eventually capture it. It didn't really work!
a) I would expect the new radiator to have a bleeder valve/petcock to bleed air out of the radiator - it should have one.

b) The fitting for a small hose from the upper cooling pipe to the radiator is NOT necessary.

the little hose is just to bleed air to the top of the radiator.

That's all it does, but again, it doesn't really do anything that the tube and radiator hose don't already do.

Leaning on other's experiences here.
A) Should I crimp the tube on the pipe, put on a fresh piece of hose and clamp on a plug, or weld up the end of the little tube?
B) Guess I will be discussing the bleeder valve. . There ARE two threaded opening on the right side. The one in the lower right would ne for the drain, so may the intent of the other is to have the customer fit one.

A) If you get new coolant tubes, the small tube for that little hose is eliminated so you are good to go with that setup.

B) If there is a bung at the top of the radiator, it is likely there for the bleeder. The bung should be at the highest point of the tank.

Merely cap it. I think I used a vacuum plug/cap and a small hose clamp.

Get two drain petcocks and put one in the lower bung for the drain, and one in the upper bung for the air bleed.
