One was the accelerator cable clamp. I purchased a throttle cable bracket from an eBay seller. There are many brackets in this style but this is a one-off that had a longer slide slot which insured the cable mounting point would mimic the original position.

Because our cars’ cables pulls from the front unlike most cars, I had to modify the bracket by cutting off the slide portion and welding it to the other end of the bracket.

I also purchased the linkage kit sold by Dennis Quella which incorporates heim joints and a custom Holley carburetor bracket that provides improved cable geometry.

Without a carburetor cable on hand I do not yet have a correct mounting bracket but I believe the style pictured will work with little to no modification.

I think this is going to work but until  I have 2511 back home we will just have to wait and see. But I thought this thread was a good place to share this project.

I finally gave in trying to make the stock replacement cable work smoothly. Nothing I tried made me comfortable with it so I removed the spring and guide. I then cut about 2.5 inches off the end of the cable that slides inside the spring guide. Reattached the threaded end by welding and used a separate return spring. Adjusted idle and full throttle stops at the pedal. The full stop bolt had been removed . It's a wonder the cable never snapped.

I suspect that part of the problem getting the original cable to work correctly was due to the carb. / manifold combination. It's why the old cable had knots tied in it. Something I noted that was poor was that the threaded end of the cable that was attached to the part that moves inside the spring guide was attached with a 4/40 threaded stud of soft mush metal. The welded attach is infinently stronger. Only need to play with return spring rates. Still not happy with the cable bracket. The cable should be firmly clamped at that point. I now have the metal to fab a better bracket. Fuel line and filter is still bugging me. Did Panteras not have a fuel filter ?

Here's how I set up my fuel system.  The braided cover is just insulation over a hardline from the tank.  It goes into a McRobb fuel pump.  You can just see the edge of the fuel filter peeking out beside the valve cover.

This goes into a Fuel Pressure regulator to keep me at 5 PSI into the Holley Carb.  I tried to keep as much of the plumbing in hardline, only using rubber lines to join to the fittings, and to provide a little stress relief.

I have some other pictures of my throttle cable mount either earlier int his thread, or in a similar thread.  This was the Throttle Cable Stress Reliever design from John Taphorn (JTPantera).

In this picture the throttle linkage is not connected, and my second return spring (like Punkdog's) to the manifold bolt is not hooked up.

Will you post a photo of your cable attach bracket ? I'm collecting ideas.

What about a fuel filter ?

I am considering temporarily replacing the carb ( not sure it would fit the manifold ) and air filter assy . with the stock Ford setup hoping that it helps me pass the CA smog inspection. Looks will matter. Anyone have or know where I can get the filter assy ? Or know the P/N ?
