I'm a moderator. I accept I must set a good example, maintain a high standard of conduct, make everyone feel welcome on the DTBB, etc.
So, how do you guys feel about me getting in the middle of a controversial subject? Is that out of line for a moderator?
For instance, I posted the topic about the video of our troups in Iraq. I wasn't making a statement at all, I just wanted to share some touching pictures with those who would find it interesting like I did. But Franz couldn't understand that. Franz is a great deTomaso enthusiast, I respect him tremendously. The last thing I want to do is make him feel uncomfortable or disatisfied with the DTBB.
Should I have avoided the topic of the Iraqi war, since I am a moderator?
In another topic, Gary & Ron have been discussing unions & emerging markets, gosh! I'm a social philosopher, do you know how hard it has been for me to "NOT" throw in my 2 cents?! I've bitten my cyber lip so hard it is bleeding virtual blood.
So what do you guys expect of your moderator?
Tell a good joke, recommend thermostats & otherwise keep my opinions to myself? OR?
take care my friends, have a great weekend, be safe, and don't forget the chat room Sunday evening.
your friend on the DTBB
