Pantera # 5357 - Rocky's 1973 L model

rocky
I have been threatening to do a write-up on my build for a while. I see all these great threads, for example the ones by Rob B., Kirk Evans, and and others detailing extensive, very high quality work being done to their cars. My skills are not as tremendous, but I have the help and assistance of a an expert Pantera enthusiast and Hot Rodder (Wade - 4280 / Mark IV) and the resources of this board. My project started as a new motor build, with upgraded performance goals. I wanted to "freshen...Read More...

The interior on my 1972 Pantera is originalā€¦ no question about! You sit down and a cloud of foam dust is exiting the seat cushion left and right where the seat back is attachedā€¦and the seat vinyl is not prepared to stretch anymore it will rip if you sit in with a spirited motion! The glue holding the vinyl on the tunnel covers covering the heater box decided to be sticky but refuses to hold anything.. somebody decided to put loudspeaker holes in the door panels and those previous mentioned...Read More...

Butt-enhancementā€¦ L bumper delete

LeMans850i
I was eyeballing this mod for quite some time now and I always came up with ā€œif someone accidentally bumps my car I will be grateful I didnā€™t do the bumper modā€¦ itā€™s the smart thing to do/not to doā€ā€¦ We had to take the bumpers of for some other work and OMG that thing is heavyā€¦ and the mounting struts are even heavierā€¦ and all this BEHIND the rear axleā€¦. i just couldnā€™t help myselfā€¦L - Bumper is gone and instead I opted for 2 useless but much much lighter pieces of fiberglass! And I think it...Read More...

Davis Craig Water Pump

Dear Friends, long time I was not writing anything here, because my Pantera works well, and we have plenty of work in the workshop. On our drift engine LS7 Customers, we usually install the davis craig water pump. So I have one left over and want to built it in the pantera as its main pump. I also want to relocate the generator, so that we are able to mount a flat panel in the middle beteen the seats , because my girl friend have those nice long legs , and she have no space for sitting in...Read More...

In fact we the first gearboxes we done, are still alive and I can say that the quality is amazing and for Sure twice better than ZF OEM parts. Even our M1 Procar racers are satisfied with the quality. So I am happy with those parts . Youst a few Photos from a Gearbox insideRead More...

The restoration of #4164

#4164
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Stephan and living in Yardley, PA. Being the proud owner of a 1972 Pantera, #4164 which I acquired in December 2023. The car was accidentally found on craigslist while looking for something completely different. Located in upstate NY, the previous owner disassembled the car and was planning on fully restoring it before he became very ill and had to abandon the project. Being an aviation engineer he was meticulous in planning out the project and...Read More...

Windows switches

I purchased a pair of window switches from Wylkinsona few weeks ago, apart from not being aesthetically identical to the original ones, they are of poor quality. Of the two there was one that didn't work and Wylkinson sent one back to me; the second one starts not working every time even though I have only activated it about ten times. I learned today thanks to the WhatsApp discussion group "Pantera French Connection" that Bosch still markets switches for old BMWs which have an identical...Read More...

So my car refuses to shut off. The keys can be removed, and it just keeps on running, causing obvious concerns. I finally had to stall it by letting out the clutch, but that still keeps the fans running, necessitating battery disconnect. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Solution? Starts right up, just can't shut it off...Read More...

Like you all have experienced, you are working on a specific project and the door panel is off, or the seat is outā€¦ you know there is something else that is staring you in the face.. šŸ˜³ itā€™s asking for your attention! So suck it up and do itā€¦ I suck a lot upā€¦ today I posted finishing the fresh air intake for the cabin and looking at the post it seems like ā€¦ well, he puts a hose on today.. but as a working day goes, you come across a lot of things that šŸ˜³šŸ¤“šŸ„¹šŸ„øšŸ«£ look at you and ask to be...Read More...

1972 Pantera 2368

onthejuice
Does anyone have ay information on THPNMB02368 other than what's in the ProvoMo registry? Mostly wondering if the odometer of 20K miles is legit, or is it 120K miles? I'm guessing the later based on how dirty the bottom of the car is. Thanks https://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/1972-detomaso-pantera-c-16244.htmRead More...

I have a Pantera project that I received in February this year. It is a 1972 Pre L that is setup as a GTS and it came with a TWM 8 stack EFI that is driven by a Haltech ECU from the 1990's. The car also came with nitrous and you can see the hard lines for it above. I will be sidelining the nitrous and also want to replace the Haltech ECU with Holley Terminator X. The Holley ECU needs a MAP sensor and from what I can tell the Haltech did not use one. If this is correct then I need to create a...Read More...

Thought I would post this to save someone the headache of the rabbit hole I just went down. I've been having clutch engagement issues after about 1000 miles on a new Mcleod clutch and TB. After going thru all the adjustments several times, I decide to change the M/C even though it was new from Wilkinson. I knew the hard-line fittings would need to change to make this M/C work. However, the plunger rod threads are different than the Wilkinson version, so I had to rethread the fork fitting on...Read More...
