Holley documentation says: Connect the CTS connector to the sensor which should be installed in a coolant passage in either the intake manifold or cylinder head. Do not install the sensor in the thermostat housing. Obviously I can't put in the intake because it is dry on a 351C. And I do not see a port on the heads for a coolant sensor. Ideas anyone? Thank you.Read More...

Goose 8MA642 Refurb and Repaint

Switched to this thread from previous "Production Data" thread. The plan is to refurb both the exterior and the motor of 69 Goose 8MA642 (wouldn't call it a restoration). Will include pulling majority of components and have them cleaned/hot tanked/painted/chromed/etc or replaced if necessary, and replacing cam/lifters/pushrods to better accommodate Boss 302 with IDA Webers performance. Headers may be a bridge too far since the frame mod for the motor leaves very little room to route headers...Read More...

Cable Shifter

Many of you know from my Facebook post that I've taken over the cable shifter product from SACC Restorations (Scott Bell). I'll be offering the kit again shortly. The cost of the shifter has risen due to inflation and cost of building them. Currently the shifter and ZF adapter will be $650 each or $1300 together, minus cables. Cables are easily ordered or I can also supply them. If you're interested, please PM me. The cable shifter eliminates misalignment from engine movement and sticky...Read More...

Has anyone had really good success switching from carbs to fuel injection? What brand/system did you go with? What should I be aware of and be on the lookout for? Any information/experience (good or bad) would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and the REAL cost when it was all said and done. Thank you in advance. FuzzRead More...

The interior on my 1972 Pantera is original… no question about! You sit down and a cloud of foam dust is exiting the seat cushion left and right where the seat back is attached…and the seat vinyl is not prepared to stretch anymore it will rip if you sit in with a spirited motion! The glue holding the vinyl on the tunnel covers covering the heater box decided to be sticky but refuses to hold anything.. somebody decided to put loudspeaker holes in the door panels and those previous mentioned...Read More...

Exhaust System

#4164
I received a gorgeous set of polished stainless mufflers with my Pantera. 2-1/4" tubing, 15 Degree upsweep, still unused, the previous owner purchased those from Hall in 2005. I am trying to find out the origin of those mufflers. Are those De Tomaso/OEM or a Hall product or other aftermarket? Thanks, StephanRead More...

Loving my baby!

lousbby
Over the past few months I’ve been driving my car “LOUSBBY” more frequently and finally have had the time to knock out some issues. I put some grease in the back of the speedo and poured oil at both ends of the cable and speedo drive at the trans and no more whining or bouncing needle. I just replaced my clutch master with a 19mm bore Alfa one and slave from Wilkinson and it is so satisfying to know I now have a clutch that holds pressure and works properly. My shifter was rattling when...Read More...

The restoration of #4164

#4164
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Stephan and living in Yardley, PA. Being the proud owner of a 1972 Pantera, #4164 which I acquired in December 2023. The car was accidentally found on craigslist while looking for something completely different. Located in upstate NY, the previous owner disassembled the car and was planning on fully restoring it before he became very ill and had to abandon the project. Being an aviation engineer he was meticulous in planning out the project and...Read More...

Pantera # 5357 - Rocky's 1973 L model

rocky
I have been threatening to do a write-up on my build for a while. I see all these great threads, for example the ones by Rob B., Kirk Evans, and and others detailing extensive, very high quality work being done to their cars. My skills are not as tremendous, but I have the help and assistance of a an expert Pantera enthusiast and Hot Rodder (Wade - 4280 / Mark IV) and the resources of this board. My project started as a new motor build, with upgraded performance goals. I wanted to "freshen...Read More...

Butt-enhancement… L bumper delete

LeMans850i
I was eyeballing this mod for quite some time now and I always came up with “if someone accidentally bumps my car I will be grateful I didn’t do the bumper mod… it’s the smart thing to do/not to do”… We had to take the bumpers of for some other work and OMG that thing is heavy… and the mounting struts are even heavier… and all this BEHIND the rear axle…. i just couldn’t help myself…L - Bumper is gone and instead I opted for 2 useless but much much lighter pieces of fiberglass! And I think it...Read More...

Concorso 2024

lf-tp2511
All, The new owners, whoever they may be, of Concorso have finally got a website up and running. Currently registration for your car is $160, but you better hurry because on May 1, that is just eight days, it goes up $35 to become a $195 admission ticket. Based on past years’ declining attendance and attractions, the question now is whether it is worth attending to see what they come up with this year?? Davis Craig Water Pump

Dear Friends, long time I was not writing anything here, because my Pantera works well, and we have plenty of work in the workshop. On our drift engine LS7 Customers, we usually install the davis craig water pump. So I have one left over and want to built it in the pantera as its main pump. I also want to relocate the generator, so that we are able to mount a flat panel in the middle beteen the seats , because my girl friend have those nice long legs , and she have no space for sitting in...Read More...

Redesign Ring and Pinion

Dear Friends, during Corona and a Long Time After our Ring and Pinion Set was nearly not aviable because some companies went Bank corrupt or needed Orders from more than 1000 PCs. In fact we the first gearboxes we done, are still alive and I can say that the quality is amazing and for Sure twice better than ZF OEM parts. Even our M1 Procar racers are satisfied with the quality. So I am happy with those parts . Youst a few Photos from a Gearbox insideRead More...

Windows switches

I purchased a pair of window switches from Wylkinsona few weeks ago, apart from not being aesthetically identical to the original ones, they are of poor quality. Of the two there was one that didn't work and Wylkinson sent one back to me; the second one starts not working every time even though I have only activated it about ten times. I learned today thanks to the WhatsApp discussion group "Pantera French Connection" that Bosch still markets switches for old BMWs which have an identical...Read More...
