Seat Track Roller Removal

The original seat track rollers are flattened out and I want to remove them and replace them but I’m not sure how to get them out. I have the track slid as far one way as they will go so one of the rollers is as close to the outside as possible but it seems like I need to get something in there to pull them out but there doesn’t seem to be much room. Any suggestions for how to remove them? Thanks!Read More...

Air cleaner assembly fresh air to breather

So here is a question!! The stock air cleaner has a fitting and foam filter on the outside “can” of the assembly. (outside the round main engine air filter) The hose to the fitting goes to the breather/oil filler cap on the right side engine valve cover. This makes sense as this is the fresh air intake for the engine ‘internal breathing” and works with the PCV valve on the left valve cover which is connected to the carb. base and is metering air out of the engine under vacuum. Some of the...Read More...

The GTS project that I received in February had been sitting for five years or so. There was no fluid in the brake master. I have all four brakes back on the car and everything is hooked up, sealed, and bled. If I pump the brake pedal several times there is a firm pedal. When I come back in five minutes or so the pedal goes to the floor. If I pump it several times the pedal is firm again. It seems like the brake master is tired. What are your thoughts? Thank you.Read More...

Brake Light Switch Retrofit

tsolo
It was recently brought to my attention by a fellow motorist that my car had no brake lights. So, I took it home and jumped out the wires at the switch and sure enough the lights came on. Failed brake light switch. Searching the forum, I found the general consensus was to retrofit a mechanical switch and do away with the pressure switch. There are a few examples that can be found on the forum but they lack some detail so I thought I would document what I did in case someone else considers...Read More...

1991 DeTomaso Pantera 90 Si, chassis 0025

Fuzz
Just received a message from Dupont Registry that a 1991 DeTomaso Pantera 90 Si, chassis 0025, has been put up for sale. Two owner car with its original window sticker. Now you don't see that too often! Placed a call to the seller's agent to inquire about their asking price. Any educated guesses what the car is worth before I get a response from seller?Read More...

Like you all have experienced, you are working on a specific project and the door panel is off, or the seat is out… you know there is something else that is staring you in the face.. 😳 it’s asking for your attention! So suck it up and do it… I suck a lot up… today I posted finishing the fresh air intake for the cabin and looking at the post it seems like … well, he puts a hose on today.. but as a working day goes, you come across a lot of things that 😳🤓🥹🥸🫣 look at you and ask to be...Read More...

Butt-enhancement… L bumper delete

LeMans850i
I was eyeballing this mod for quite some time now and I always came up with “if someone accidentally bumps my car I will be grateful I didn’t do the bumper mod… it’s the smart thing to do/not to do”… We had to take the bumpers of for some other work and OMG that thing is heavy… and the mounting struts are even heavier… and all this BEHIND the rear axle…. i just couldn’t help myself…L - Bumper is gone and instead I opted for 2 useless but much much lighter pieces of fiberglass! And I think it...Read More...

The interior on my 1972 Pantera is original… no question about! You sit down and a cloud of foam dust is exiting the seat cushion left and right where the seat back is attached…and the seat vinyl is not prepared to stretch anymore it will rip if you sit in with a spirited motion! The glue holding the vinyl on the tunnel covers covering the heater box decided to be sticky but refuses to hold anything.. somebody decided to put loudspeaker holes in the door panels and those previous mentioned...Read More...

72 Pre L looking for a new home

timh
Hi friends, I’ve decided to look for a new home for 2814. I’m making room in the garage for a new ride. I bought this car in 2017, sourced from this very forum. It was a California car, with a restoration completed in 2016. The restoration included an engine rebuild, QA1 coilovers, bushings, clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, shifter, switches, steering wheel, brakes, carpets, seats, alternator, Fluidyne radiator, Spaal fans, u-joints, starter, hoses, water pipes, windshield, wiper...Read More...

Rotisserie.

with regards
Hello Pantera International! My name is Matt, another newbie with a '71 basket case, 2060, and looking like I'll be following in the footsteps of #4164. I had the distinct pleasure of having Mike Drew go through most of the boxes with me two days after I got it home! Scott from OCP also stopped by to oversee some of the fun.. Thought I'd ask if anyone has put their Pantera on a rotisserie to work on it? Pros and cons of doing that? Underside has surface rust but passed the screwdriver and...Read More...

More progress on engine bay

stevebuchanan
This is a Pantera project that I received in February this year. It is a 1972 Pre L that is setup as a GTS. The engine bay now has its satin black top coat. The second photo shows how the project came to me with much of the grunt work already done with welding over unused openings along with bondo work. Even with much of the work handed over to me it is incredible how much time and effort it took to get to this point.Read More...

Cabin ventilation… where does it go?

LeMans850i
Here is the question.. there are vents to get air into to cabin.. theoretically.. warm or outside air or A/C cold.. but usually cars have a venting system that, for example you close the door let the “trapped” air escape… surely you saw vents in the rear of the doors towards the door-jam or behind the sides in the rear of the body, hidden behind the bumper… so, where is that feature on the Pantera cabin? I’m just wondering if you want to add cold air to the inside the air present in the...Read More...

Goose 8MA642 Refurb and Repaint

Switched to this thread from previous "Production Data" thread. The plan is to refurb both the exterior and the motor of 69 Goose 8MA642 (wouldn't call it a restoration). Will include pulling majority of components and have them cleaned/hot tanked/painted/chromed/etc or replaced if necessary, and replacing cam/lifters/pushrods to better accommodate Boss 302 with IDA Webers performance. Headers may be a bridge too far since the frame mod for the motor leaves very little room to route headers...Read More...
